Compassionate • Inspiring • Encouraging
Liz’s philosophy as a music educator is to provide an uplifting and exploratory environment for students to discover their passions, and encourage them to grow and succeed as well-rounded artists. She is a firm believer in the healing powers of music: how it can help us be in touch with our hearts, stimulate our minds, help us develop a confident sense of self, and approach learning with joy. The connection between a student and music teacher is unique and lifelong – a relationship fostered by understanding, communication, and encouragement. Liz takes time to learn each student’s personality and interests, and provides them with the resources and support for them to find their voice.
She is passionate about the use of interdisciplinary studies and exploring new areas of study to provide a fulfilling and well-rounded music education. Liz is currently working towards two degrees at West Chester University for her Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education and Flute Performance, with a minor in voice. She has a very diverse educational background, with experience in teaching high school & collegiate bands, mixed-level choirs, and directing musical theater productions at various school districts in the area.
She recently traveled to Germany to perform and participate in conducting symposiums as a member of West Chester University’s premier Wind Ensemble. She has years of choir, marching band, and orchestral experience, but is also a contemporary performer who can be found at churches, country clubs, weddings, or at a jam session with a funk band or jazz combo.
Her soprano vocals are featured in the latest EP produced by West Chester’s premier a cappella group, Under A Rest!
